Hey there,

I tried out your game last week and I think it rocks! Once you get into the game it really immerses you with it's atmospheric moody ambience & dark environments. I really like how you crave the light in this game, the flashlight is your saviour - but when it runs out of batteries, uh oh!

It's great how you guys choose to have a minimalist approach to weapons and baddies in this game. If the guy just busted on in with a handgun, it just wouldn't be the same. Besides, he's got no idea what happened there and (being so freaked out by the silence & dark) might just go and shoot someone accidentally. Also, if you had an enemy in every second room they wouldn't be as scary. Like many good movies of old and fewer recent ones, freak you out with the 'perceived threat'. It's much more unsettling when you're not sure what lurks round the next dark corner.

Ok here's my input:

+'s

physics, graphics(minimal lighting), music(ambience), lack of guns, notes taken by guy to prompt the gameplay, cinematic scripted bits, lack of health bar(like you'd ever know your exact health % anyway!!), limited saves

-'s

- intro!! very cheesy, could have done a better job with the story make it a little more believable
- no map (even a vague map would be good, like thief) or a map that updates as the guy progresses through the game.
- does seem to take a fair while to load between rooms
- baddies need to have more flow, perhaps even lunging at player rather than just flying around
- can't think of anymore right now, haven't finished yet either

In anycase if there were only four of you working on this one then you did a fantastic job! I haven't been this freaked out by a game for a while. It reminded me a little of system shock 2, minimal contact with people etc. makes you feel like you're the last person alive.
