I just started the game, but I noticed that my version is labeled P.O EP#1.
haven’t played through the first episode yet through... But there is no episode 2

Doom 3 was scary for the first 10 minutes after the invasion, but after a short time, things just become predicable. Though I still had some jumps at random parts of the game.

Doom3 would have benefited from some narration and direction like Penumbra has.
Having played Wolfenstein and Doom when they first came out and alot of shooters since, not much scares me.
If you setup the right environment, and get the player focused on one thing then sneak up behind them... then you scare people.
Perhaps Doom3 was just jumping out constantly and you came to expect it. Everywhere is dark and closed in... something is going to jump out.. too predictable.
Even RPG games (NeverwinterNights 2) is like a movie now (NWN1 was pretty open) and drives you forward with narration. Doom3 was inventive to drive the story forward with the PDA and you collected notes from people's PDA's, but that's not very movie-like. People like talkies in this day and age. :)
