GeForce3 Ti / Radeon 8500 (GeForce4 MX not supported)

Now I really want a new graphics card (I'm on a radeon 9000) but although I cant play I'll check on this project regularly, sounds too good to be true !

ok when i run the game
main menu opens, I set options to lowest.
Start new game, plays cool intro.
Then dissapears back to desktop.

any ideas?

Quite right, yes.
The problem is that your card doesn't support the shader model used by the game.
To the developers, I know OGRE supports fallback shaders, which are only used if the used card doesn't support the "main" model, maybe implementing something similar could broaden your user base, just an idea .
Of course, there are a lot of things that broaden the user base .

So will a 9700 pro cut it or is it lacking?

It has been tested on 9600 so a 9700 should work.

I'm not deep into hardware stuff, I have a "GeForce4 Ti". Is this below or above Geforce FX?

It's below, but hopefully soon your Geforce4 will be supported as well!
