I installed the game off the 1.1 version full install.  Any time I try to launch  the game, it flashes black, then dumps back to the desktop.  I'm running a Shuttle SN25P w/ 3000+, 2 GB Ram, eVGA 7900GT KO.  I'm running the Forceware 90 rev.91.31 drivers.  You'd think that would be more than enough, but no dice.

Here's my log.  Help?

your card doesent support the shaders at first sight.
the 90 rev.91.31 drivers, are those the latest?
since i use a Geforce5200fx and it runs and i presume you have a better one
From the log it seems liem your card support verty little OpenGL Extenstions. Can you run games like Doom 3 (that uses OPenGL) and are you sure you are using the latest drivers?

Yes, they're the most recent drivers. I never bothered playing Doom 3, but I have no problem running other modern games at the highest settings (such as Oblivion, HL2, FEAR, etc.). NVidia claims that all 7 series processors have full OpenGL support up to and including OpenGL 2.0. This card should be more than enough to run the game, but it just doesn't seem to want to go.

Ideas for troubleshooting?

So no ideas on how to fix this or even where to start to troubleshoot?
Well, there must be some bug in the drivers you are using. The reason I asked if you could run Doom 3 is becuase it is an OpenGL based game, the once you listed run with Direct3D.

The only suggestion I have is to try some older drivers and see if they work.

As said before, the problem is that your card return "false" (0) when I ask if it support some important features. The only thing I can do then is to close the app I am afraid :/

If I revert to older drivers, Oblivion screws up. Is there someway to get a more robust debug to pinpoint the problem and submit it to Nvidia? I can't be the only person with this issue, so maybe harrassing Nvidia for a solution will solve a whole bunch of posts here.

I as well am having this same issue, I'm currently downloading doom3 demo to see what happens.

So judging by this and your games error log, its clear that the 91.31 drivers are not OpenGl friendly, I'll try the 84.63 driver and see if that make a difference.

Well 84.63's arent compatible with my card, had to use the 84.21's and that seems to have resolved the issue. You might want to make a post regarding this issue for us Nvidia users.
