Full Version: Overarching Plans for the Engine?

I recently downloaded the treat that is Penumbra, and was stunned at the system, not merely the fact it was a free game. I have started work on a mod using the current tools, but have a question;

What are the overarching plans and goals for the engine itself?
Are there plans to include weapons, multiplayer, or other such things?

I'm still learning the modifying tools, and reading around here, but like what I see. From what I can gather, I have heard mention of plans for:
A Enemy Modifier
A Weapon Modifier

If there are truly plans for both, I think I will be overjoyed.

I was rather curious, and appreciate any and all answers.

The current version of penumbra will not have any have any major updates on. The aim is that users will be able to mod so that a Penumbra-like game can be created, this means that you will not make a counter-strike clone or something like that.

There will most probably be some way to mod enemies so that new enemies can be added. As for weapons, I am not really that sure, if it is an easy add it will be added. Penumbra is an adventure game, so it will be most supportive of mods that are adventure games aswell.

This is only things that will happen in the near future though. In the future more fun stuff might happen ;)

wait a moment, is it not possible to mod new enemies yet?
Not at the moment. As soon as someone starts working on an enmey for a mod I'll fix it though :) it is just a matter of making some variables reachable from the entity file.
