If you go to the Penumbra website and check out the media you will see a big muntant holding a human head.

When i played Penumbra i never saw this muntant and i have finished the whole game!!!

Can someone please give me directions to where i can see this muntant ingame?

MyWorldOfChaos

You can't.

Kedjane

There is a screenshot from a game, the screenshot shows a monster.. Wich is NOT IN-GAME?
yes
it was made by a modeler who left the dev team and so the model wasent finished
i think they just made is as static enviroment and madde that screen with it

Kedjane

Why did the modeller leave? How stupid.

Zixinus

Becuse the modeller most likely had a million other, more useful things to do. And the main developer simply cut the dude. The monster most likely will appear in the commercial version of the game.

There is no money in freeware projects, unless Penumbra is willing to advertise products.

Now that's an idea! The monster can only be killed by throwing Pepsi Cola cans to its head (only Pepsi Cola, not another brand). Of course there are Pepsi machines all over the place!

And the only way to avoid the flying critter is to spray some Axe deo under your armpits...

Penumbra, the Pepsi dimension, can be downloaded by using the special access code you'll find on each can...

Maeko

Maybe that's why the flying demons squeal all the time, you don't have Axe on... :P

This reminds me of that Star Trek game I once bought. In the manual was printed how you could go to your cabin to rest, read manuals, consult the ship's computer, etc...

...only...

...that part had never been developed so when the game came out that part of the game wasn't inside.

So these things even happen with commercial games...

Zixinus

That's old media. I can recall games where the same happened, Prey,Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of Earth, Beyond Good and Evil, Soul Reaver and Half-Life 2 is just from the top of my head.
