Okok... wenn auhc etwas spät ^^: ich habs nicht installiert... als ich penumbra damals gezockt hab gabs das 1. noch nicht 2. braucht mans normalerweise ja auch gar nicht... aber ich habs mir mal angeguckt: Imho sind die Texte nicht wirklich realistisch, sondern wohl eher qörtlich übersetzt. Zwar gibt es im deutschen Sprachraum schon große Unterschiede was die gesprochene Sprache angeht, aber trotzdem bin ich der Meinung die Übersetzung ist etwas holprig geworden.
Das soll aber nicht deine Leistung herabwürdigen! Ich habs damals selbst versucht (wäre damit einer der ersten gewesen, die ein languagefile hochgeladen hätten) aber nach einem drittel ungefähr aufgehört, weils mir zu viel Arbeit war.
Mmn ist ein Sprachpatch unnötig, für die kleinen kiddies die kein Englisch können aber ganz nützlich und für die tuts auch so eine Übersetzung (ja, ich weiß dass das hochnäßig klingt, aber mein Bruder ist so einer und da hab ich nur schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht).

The translation is much better now! Thanks alot. At first I thought: "Where is the difference?" There was still "a dark piece of wood" (ein dunkles Stück Holz) and other oddities which are not in the "german.lang". Then I searched my game folder for files containing "ein dunkles" and found out that the only occurence was in "auto.sav". So my saved game would never ever use your new translations. I finally read through the translation file and noticed that you fixed up a lot!
WICHTIG: Das Spiel muss komplett neu gestartet werden! Die Texte werden nämlich mit dem Speicherstand gespeichert!

@JonathanArcher: I noticed myself that some sentences were not good, because they follow the original one too close. And, I had no time to try out, where every text appears in the game, so sometimes I mention obvious things.
I kind of disagree with you that the "kiddis" don't need a good translation: Where should they learn proper German? Don't tell me "in school" :-P

Thanks for nice feedback, and thanks again for the hint with the save games. I hope that I find the time to review the translation, killing the remaining quirks and typos.

Erm... in fact I wrote that only kiddies need a translation... and - imho - someone who doesn't (want to) learn German at school won't learn it by playing pc games

Also zu meiner Ãœbersetzung die in Penumbra intregiert ist:
Diese ist innerhalb eines Tages entstanden, ich habe sie nur geschrieben um Usern zu helfen die kein Wort Englisch können nicht um in einem Rechtsschreibwettbewerb zu gewinnen. Ich gebe zu die Übersetzung war nicht die Beste es waren viele Rechtschreibfehler drin dies wurde auch oft Bemängelt. Ich weiß nicht wie deine aussieht und ich werde sie auch nicht testen aber da viele sagen sie ist besser sollten sie deine benutzen.

I havent looked at your Translation.
So my Translation that is Intregrated in Penumbra:
This Translation i have finished in one Day, i only wrote it to help people who dont speek one word english and I dont wrote it to win in a Spelling Competition. I say it: My Translation wasnt the best, where was many spelling failures that was often said. I dont know how your Translation look and i dont look at it, but many people say that your Translation is better so they should use yours.

Any translation is better than no translation. And because I used your work, I should not complain about. In fact, without your translation it would have been much harder. Thank you!
It's a personal preference how important spelling and grammar is to someone. For me it's very important, because I like my language, and it is not only a "tool" for me. I think my translation is far from perfect (as my English skills), and I hope I have the time to improve it...

I play`d the demo and i saw the german translation. The translation is not bad, but to many "," in the sentence. But...it`s ok. The game is very good.
