I suggest a claw hammer. With the way the physics are integrated into this game, a claw hammer would be pretty fun to use. You know, just swing the mouse around to smack around those bat creatures that take three sticks of dynamite to kill. If the character ever gets a gun it should be small and comparably pathetic to what he has to kill it with, like a rusty old .25 caliber Beretta that jams on every third shot. Obviously, you can't empower the player too much in a game like this ;) The dynamite would be a better weapon if it actually felt like dynamite. I just finished the game, and it took 3 sticks to kill the last one of them as I mentioned above. Oh well, these are all just suggestions and I'm half-asleep here at 2:00 am.

How many threads or posts have there been asking for weapons? :P

You could use HL2's gravity gun, and turn it into your own kinda gravity thingy. Thats what the main characters father has been working on.

When HL2 came out remeber DOOM 3 came out with a new patch which had a gravity gun ripp-off.. Mabe something original but the gravity gun will make people just think of HL2.

They should give you a really old rusty revolver that doesn't work. At all.

a little off-topic perhaps, but the gravity gun was developed by ID before the release of hl2. and when you think about it, is a natural extention of dynamic physics in games. yea, hl2 is definatly the definitive "gravity gun", but its not a stroke of originality. its just an evolutionary move to use the game physics.

cool weapons, i think would be, being able to set up little traps just using what around. rigging tripwires and stuff like that.

ultimately though, what matters is who is going to model and code these cool weapons we want?

Well, I'm not saying GOOD weapons, I'm just saying there should be very "ghetto" or rudimentary ones at the very least. If you put monsters in a game there should be weapons to kill it with, otherwise it's Clock Tower, and no one wants that. I'm still a big fan of the good ol' board with a nail in it.

I still say no... SURVIVAL horror is about SURVIVING... not beating the crap out of your foes and then hopping around with no dangers near. There must be this feeling that you are totally defenseless against anything you will come by.

Well sure. This no-weapon thing really works.. Since the game is so short. You cant spend a game with HL2 or Doom 3's length just running past monsters. I wrote it in "We have some questions we want you to answer"-thread thingie. Something like that metal pipe you found to keep them off if you are trapped, maybe find a gun to keep them away but yet in meele you can beat one but the chance is much bigger you are the one dying is you and maybe a pistol found in a body loaded with 7 bullets and then maybe there just is 4 more bullets in the game.
