Hi,
I just wanted to make sure you know about the Refinery tool available on sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/colladarefinery/
It comes with an installer for windows.
This tool is a COLLADA processing pipeline, that can be used as an interactive tool through its user interface, or as a batch. It has several 'conditioners' included, that can process a COLLADA (.dae) document and can be combined to form more complex tasks, that can be saved as macros.
An example macro included will process a COLLADA document and transform all the geometries into triangles for example.
Also, part of this package is the 'coherency test' conditioner, that will parse a document looking for problems. So if you are in doubt about a file, you should first test it with this conditioner.
In addition, you could develop additional conditioners, in order to format the data suitable for Penumbra.
Regards
