I know the game doesn't run work with MX cards. My Laptop uses a Geforce 4 Go card, and it won't start the game, it just gives me an error message saying the driver components mismatch. Is this because of the card as well?
can you take a screenshot of the error
allso, try updating your drivers :)

Sure. I start the game, it changes my moniters resolution as if it were starting up, but before the game loads, it crashes and gives me this error message:

Edit: Like you suggested, I updated driver components. Now it seems to work, looks like that was the problem. Thanks :)
Hey, do you know more specific what card it is? Geforce GO 420, Geforce G0 4600 etc

It will be useful information for us to have when building a database over cards that have been verified to work, thanks!

I have a GeForce4 440 Go. I only checked if the game will start up though, I haven't played yet, since I'm waiting to be in the right mood to play a horror game (midnight) :D.

I'll be back though if I run into problems or once I've beaten it :) .

Darn, it doesn't look like this isn't gonna work. I just tried playing it, now I can get to the start screen, and when I start a new game, the intro runs, but then when the game actually is supposed to start, it crashes.

This time it seems to be an unkown problem, as it just gives me XP's usual report an error message: "Penumbra.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." No clues as to what might be causing the problem :(
Please post the hpl.log file here.
