I just got done playing a little bit and it is very good, the graphics are nice the motion blur is well used it's a great break from all of the regular FPS games being churned out.

Yes, i cant understand how you can make a game with better graphics than most other games, and give it free. I love the motion blur, it is a very good idea.

this is a REAL horror game. I was astonished to hear about other survival "horror" games being scary, but this is a real nice surprise.
I think it's important if you can get in the feel of being the character, being unable to save at every step and without an arsenal at your disposal.
At least for me it was scary, and I felt like being in that place just trying to survive.
I also played Fiend and had the good feeling of something really sweet is coming out, or lurking ;)

I have been telling everyone I play games with online about Penumbra.

I feel it is the first "scary" game I have played in a long time. Other games have attempted but fell short due to other problems (im looking at you Silent Hill) Controls are often awkward and camera angles are horrid. Penumbra is a step in the right direction.

The only way for penumbra to not be scary is if you have the Benny Hill theme as background music. I find that the remedy for any scary game.

Great game, really scary... But please, let me SMASH that monsters!Just a very little baseball bate, or hard and nice metal rod... That wouldn't spoil the game as it is not Terminator arsenal, but that'd be more fair. Well, anyway, it ыууьs like that guy managed to keep his hands with him (as well as legs), so at least he could kick and punch monsters, right?

I wouldn't throw a punch at that creature... have you seen it's mouth? Imagine getting your fist stuck in that. I think it could bite off your hand with a simple crunch.
