So..I will start from scratch:
In hopes of exporting animation to HPL I moved on to MAYA 8.0
Using COLLADA 3.02 the final file was unable to run in HPLhelper, due to material errors.Digging through the .dae file and comparing it to a working .dae file I finaly came to a solution.
Then in hopes of adding animation (the reason i moved on to MAYA cos of the support of the package), I tried a simple moving box in the X axis, and then made the proper changed to the .dae file for the materials to work.
But..the animation was not playing, with no errors in the hpl.log file.
Just like when I manualy added:
<extra>
<technique profile="MAYA">
<start_time>0.041667</start_time>
<end_time>2.000000</end_time>
</technique>
</extra>
to the exported 3DS MAX8 SP2 file, before I moved on to MAYA 8.0.
Then I started again digging through the .dae files and comparing my .dae with a roach_***.dae file, to check how animations are formated...with no luck to my eyes.
I have attached an original .dae file exported from MAYA 8.0 (collada 3.02) with simple animation, as well as the same file modified by me to resolve the material errors, but still animations dont playing.
Im in hopes of someone helping me out of this...
If the best solution is to use ColladaMaya v.0.87 in MAYA 7.0 (meaning the same as you did) then that will be fine.Only problem is I cant find this version in the net anymore, and I will appriciate if someone could share it!
P.S: I am writing a comprehensive step by step guide (started as personal notes), as far as 3DS MAX-HPL is concerned, and I will be glad to share it if people think they will use it, as soon as its finished and that will probably be very soon..
Thanks!
