Please tell us what gameplay you enjoyed most in Penumbra: Overture - Episode One. Remember that your feedback will help shape the upcoming episodes!
Physics was the best part. It's not everyday you can throw an exploding canister at a dog.
I voted physical puzzles, very closely followed by exploration, reading notes etc. :)
I liked most the physics puzzles and the chase sequences.
There should be more stealth in the next episode, maybe a section that forces you to sneak because the enemy is too powerful.
the exploration part i think it was perfectly done in such a way that it pushed the suspense up a notch everytime you found a note or a newspaper article. great job, can;t wait for the second part.
I am about 50/50 when it comes to exploring and puzzle solving.
I thought the game was very well done. One thing though, the wolf enemy seemed a bit overused, so far. There seemed to be so many. When you do manage to clear an area, you're greeted with more. This seemed to detract from the overall scary experience, knowing that the same enemy was always there. If you cut down on the number of the wolves in one area, that would be great. I know you can come up with a monster that would make most people panic at the sight of it, rather then just generic monsters. You don't always need to see something for the game to be scary, after all in the tech demo you didn't really have that many fighting areas, just the fear of the the unknown (and all those noises) were frightning enough.

Except for that the game is amazing, i liked the puzzles and the physics (the mouse controls also add a great amount of depth to a usually static area of most games). I loved the morse code thing, very original. Chase scenes were nice too. I also agree with the post below me in that the inventory puzzles were very nice, definitly include a lot of those in the next episode. Pretty much all of the game lol, thank you for this great experience.
I voted for Physics Puzzles, but I just loved all the puzzles, overall: the whole "adventure" part of the game :) That includes physics and inventory puzzles, and exploring as well. I don't want you to think we don't like inventory puzzles, just because we've all voted physics (Or exploring) :D

On the other hand, the chase sequence wasn't that good... It was pretty short and not really scary. I'd rather have one that's more like Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth's chase sequence... I mean a longer, yet more interesting (And scary) one.

And fighting the enemies was the worst part, imo, since the dogs were all over the place and they were just a pain in the ass, specially when they'd just ignore your hits after you've knocked them out, run away, and then howl and attract more of them... Less enemies, but different, and with more creative ways to kill them is the way to go, if you ask me.

Anyway, it was a great game. It had some flaws, but the whole adventure component was awesome. I'll be looking forward to buying the second and third episodes :D Is there an ETA, by the way?
I've voted "Exploring environments", because that was what set the mood of the game. I'd really like there to be more "Physical puzzles" tho, so I could also vote for that. ;) Also, I think that this part also ties with inventory and puzzles; you can't explore without solving the puzzles, which is great!

The chase, scripted scenes were great too. Sneaking was, however, boring, and running away from enemies (non-scripted)... well, I didn't run. I killed them dogs (and this also was, IMHO, more annoying than entertaining).
I would have to say the chase sequences were my favorite. There werent very many involved in Ep 1. It would be cool to have a few more in Ep 2.
