Full Version: So um... Like I've played the Demo for Linux, and now I want the full game.

Is there any date yet for the Linux release?? I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really (well you get the idea) want to play the full version!! I know I haven't finished with the Demo (the dog always gets me, and I can't get away running or hit it with anything, I've even broken a glass bottle on its head and still got "eaten"), but I'm eager to play the full version... In the mean time, the demo will have to do, (unless until I figure out how to get past this freaking dog :( ), but this game is right there amongst my top 10 best Linux games of all times :D
Sorry to tell you, but the dog is really the end of the demo.
As far as I know, there is no way to get past it.
I don't know about the linux release date, but I bet one of the developers will help you out soon.
Just wanted to tell you it'll be well worth the wait.
I just finished the full game two days ago, and I'm gonna start playing again tomorrow (and perhaps write a walkthrough for the game).
Hope someone can help you out soon!
Ok, so I've finished the Demo already... Bummer. I was replaying it just a few moments ago and found some things I did not find the first time I went through the boat cabin (like the letter)... I don't want them to rush the game out, I know there are still problems to be fixed in the Linux version and the Demo is serving just that pupose (I understand, I relly do, but the expectation is killing me!)... I know I could buy the Windows version and then play it in Linux through wine, but the thing is, that I want to buy the Linux version simply to support Linux games development, I know I can buy one and then the other, but the thing is I'd rather account for two Linux sales than one Windows and one Linux... At any rate, congratulations to the team, you're doing such a great job with this game, and if the Demo is of any indication, this game has really hooked me and others... Only one question remains, where will the Linux version be available from? I hope GamersGate will host it, as I already have an account with them. Keep up the good work and even though I'd like you to release now, release when it is truly ready.
There are still some Linux issues that we need to fix, but hopefully we can release the full version soon. Please be patient. :)
I know you still have issues to iron down with the Linux version... I'm just too eager and want to already play the full version. Keep up the good work!
Cool, didn't know games came out for Linux, since the market is so limited.

Well, actually there has been quite a bit of games released for Linux, either as exclussive or ports from other platforms of successful games. Examples of this are:
  • Quake series. The whole series (even IV) is available for Linux, you basically only need one copy and just get the Linux binaries, copy the game's content and are able to play.
  • Doom series. Pretty much the same as with the Quake series, except that Doom 3 has an installer which will take care of the installation of the game for you, you still have to manually copy the expansion's files, though.
  • F.A.K.K 2, originally ported by Loki games.
  • Rune, also originally ported by Loki games, and recently re-released by Tuxgames.com
  • Unreal series. The whole series is availabe, originally started from UT99, UT2003/4 are also available and the original episode is playbable using the UT99 engine with a classic mod.
  • Neverwinter Nights. One of the most notable RPG games of recent times, since BioWare did not do the sequel, there's but a slim chance it will be ever ported, alas, the first one plays just fine.
  • many others

Penumbra is an excellent addition
