Good, and they all might be about the same size on a hard drive...hopefully, as time passes, they become more advanced (better/smoother graphics, better interface, gameplay, character models, etc.).
I hope we'll get player shadows in the next episodes.
In FEAR they added a lot to the atmosphere, and I think in Penumbra they would be good too

Meh, I never have cared about graphical detail or extras like player-shadow, grain-filter, bloom lighting, etc. Now don't get me wrong they are cool, but if they eat up my performance then BAH to them.
i see it like this:
By splitting the game and not wasting too much time on testing the first part (impression) of the game could be released earlier. Now this way the (probably) young and maybe a little unexperienced (no offense, i just say that this is probably your first huge game) developerteam can get fast feedback and ideas how to improove their games.
I on my part had a great time with this game. Its one of the far too rarely seen games u have to think about after u finished.(if u catch my drift)
Can't wait to buy and play the 2nd part! (pls put a good plot to it like part1)

That's why I like the idea of Episodes! :)
One thing that I like to be added into next episodes is that dogs have better legs. Now they have just sticks.
I like the three episode idea. It's hard to wait. It instantly became a favorite of mine (or very close).
It's like Star Wars. Okay, I understand having all 6 episodes as 1 movie would be LLLOOOOONGGG, but isn't it nice seeing one, and waiting for the second (like the old classics, that is actually out for some time lol).
It's nice to have cliffhangers.
The risk in this though, is, what if it gets canceled, not enough money, etc.
No offense to whomever made this. It's a great game, but anything can happen.

Look at Descent. For those who know the game, pretty much know what happened. Descent 4 was up on the worktable so to speak, being made, then, nothing. It was canceled. Some (or a lot) of ideas were added in "Red Faction". Companies that made Descent 3 either went under and/or split up. PXO went under.

I'm really hoping the other two episodes will be available though. To those making it; I'd rather wait the extra two/three months and have the game done just right, than to get it out early, rushed, and have it missing stuff.
I think its perfectly fine the way they did it. Three episodes for 19.99 each instead of one 50 dollar game. Also, like someone mentioned, they can get feedback from episode 1 and then use it for improving the 2nd and 3rd episode.

I agree. Why have a game finish early but have missing stuff and what not?

it just wouldn't be right. I'm sure a lot of games did that. I know Descent 3 did quite a bit. there were a lot on file, on what "would have" happened.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Are you agreeing with me or are you saying that its not right to do episodes?
sorry, I am agreeing. when you said "I agree. Why have a game finish early but have missing stuff and what not?", I said, it wouldn't be right to have them rush it; have it finish early have have stuff missing.
That's what happened with the Descent 3 game. Apparently some descent fans looked in "table"? files, or some sort of file, and saw quite a bit missing.
Sorry I wasn't very clear on that.
