Penumbra: Black plague crash

Everytime I start Black Plague in steam the frictional games banner shows up, then the paradox interactive. Normally something should appear with a flash there then, but for me those are 2 white boxes, and then it crashes! I get the report from blackbox something with

penumbra.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCES_VIOLATION in module penumbra.exe at 001B:004EB5B2

Help me quick !

I've got a GeForce GT 240 (Nvidia)

I've tryed everything from that list, indeed.

1. What operating system do you have? Also 32-bit or 64-bit?
2. Is it a laptop or a desktop? If a laptop, what model?

1. A normal windows XP, all graphic drivers updated

2. I got a normal desktop (if that's a computer?)
