I was trying to remove the menu options on the screen by finding the font files and editing them remember? I knew no other way to get a clear shot of the menu background. I asked if anyone knew a less cheap sorta way to do it. But no one said anything, so I just went with the original plan.

try to find the bare image. What you are doing will most probably not work.
