Profile Missing

I haven't seen any threads or faqs on this problem so I'd like some help. Recently I tried to go back to Amnesia, but my profile is missing. I can start up the game fine, but my old profile is missing. I purchased the game through steam and there is data in my steamapps folder from Amnesia. Anyone know how to fix this?

Amnesia saves profiles under Documents/Amnesia/Main
Check that folder if you have any data there. If not, you might have permission issues.

From where did you get the game?

Steam, and yes i did check game file integrity. heck i even tried re-downloading all of it.

try to run steam and the game as an administrator

But the problem is not that the game does not create a profile, it is that the old profile is missing? correct?
I'm afraid if the old profile is gone it is gone for good, perhaps it was deleted by mistake, else it would be in the Documents folder.

Yes Jens but if the game was not run as an administrator the saves might be at VirtualStore folder. Go to C:\Users\--YOUR-USER-NAME--\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ and in there you should find any "missing" files from the normal folders due to administrator restrictions. Maybe you can find a documents folder in there.

However, the game should detect even this folder so most probably you deleted them by accident.
