LOL! I don't know if i'm going to use alma because is busy with the f.e.a.r. team xD
aniway i just started to do my custom story one week ago and i have already problems with .dae files ( exported with blender, the model editor does not open .dae file ). BUT NOW STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS! Big Grin
PS: F.E.A.R. is my favourite horror game too!

Yes FEAR inspired me to make the name SCARE .

"every scare has a reason" = I hate jumpscares (yes they are jumpy scares that have no backup story for them except for Jesus Flying around in crucified pose)
For me the scares will have reasons to appear , such as halucinations after taking pills , ground shaking looking at monsters for too long (well you will have to look at them at some cut-scene like parts)
Will make you give visions Big Grin

(NOTE:This is purely speculation and opinion based on the description and screen shots given. Please don't read the following if you suffer from heart conditions, or are prone to getting your feelings hurt by constructive criticism!)
This looks like just another modern mod (and by that I mean all textures/models are from Penumbra, members of this site, or just ripped from other games, and you imported the decent looking flashlight+hand from White Night). Based on the brief description, it seems you gave away what could have been a pretty awesome twist to the story. Story seems to be a shortcoming in many mods lately, and it can greatly improve immersion if it is executed correctly If you don't pace it right, you might as well not have any story at all. Also, I hope this won't be one of those mods where everything is a cluster of random models from both games (like Amnesia castle base walls then Penumbra bathroom walls).

If there are more shadows than in the original game, I'd suggest toning it down a bit; there is no substitute for knowledge of lighting balance between point/spot lights. If you know how to use lights properly, there is no need to have every light be a spot light with cast shadow on high quality. If you plan on having a lot of shadows in one area, make sure they're on medium to low quality. It is difficult to become immersed in an environment when you're getting 10-20fps. As for the particles, you can just load those OnEnter() so it won't really affect the player.
