RE: The demo doesn't work
It seems the game is crashing in the audio. Have you managed to start the game at all? If you have and you also changed some settings, maybe enabled hardward in the sound settings? Then that could be the cause.

If so go to ~/Library/Preferences/Frictional Games/Penumbra Overture/Episode1/ and delete the settings.cfg file and start the game again.

If not, try to update to the latest version of 10.4? You seem to be running 10.4.3?

Hi Jens, thanks for aswering.

No i didn't touched a thing in the game audio settings, as i said, when i launch the demo I just have a black screen for 2 seconds and then a return to the finder.

If it's maybe a sound problem could i changed something on my Mac audio settings ?

About the update, i'm not very hot for it ... i have so many jobs on my computer and i often read many bad scary things on forums about "troubles after updating" ... Plus the 10.4.11 has a very bad reputation ....

I hope it's not THE only solution for having a chance to play your game ...

Well, if you have other ideas or solutions for me that would be huge...
otherwise i'll wait one more year, when i'll buy a new computer.
And i'll play your game for sure. It really sounds freaking cool

Bye

It might just help... don't count on it though.
Try creating a new user and login as that user, try running the demo again.
