That's already happening, it's just not Blizzard doing it. I expect this sort of thing to increase when Blizzard get's the Auction up and running and real money becomes involved:

Oh, I didn't think of that.
Communicating with a central server is like running money-trains from your house to the central bank every day. Sure, Blizzard can protect their own servers from intrusions, but can they protect the next server down the block, or the node after that?
Also, if this was a session ID hack, then that means that Blizzard didn't care much about protection at all, because session ID hacks are basic stuff: You crack their session ID algorithm with any number of programs, and you're swimming in all of their IDs. From that point, it's just a matter of going through the complete list of the players, and laundering the items.

I'm not speaking from personal experience, but cracking session IDs are said to be pretty easy, and all it takes is the most skilled and lucky cracker on the planet, to compromize all accounts. Maybe they won't get away with laundering the items, but that still won't stop them from trying.

Dispute what people say, I'm certain blizzard take their security pretty serious I'm sure they have been targeted of hacking plenty of time, it was said, so easy, there hasn't been 1 occasion where they have been hacked.

I'm sure that Blizzard is going to take Diablo 3 security seriously, because they have a stake in that security, as they get a cut of all the economy.

To me it sounds like that's you're attempt to insult them? Tongue

RE: Diablo 3
Hackers need to die in a fire. That is giving them credit too.

I've been hacked in WoW, hacked in Runescape, and hacked on Xbox. I have Diablo 3, but to me, it just feels like a somewhat better version of Fate, which is also a good game.

Forever passing judgement compared to a fraud.

I was a bit sarcastic, as it has been shown that Blizzard doesn't really care anymore about the security in Diablo 2.
