Nice work man, sounds like an awesome idea! Nice an challenging to get such a big environment without serious framerate issues Smile

"Fail at scripting" you say? If you want any help with it dude, I'd be more than happy to oblige

Realize spotlights for water have animation, you don't have to use 25 spotlights fading into another at the exactly right time.
Feel stupid Sad

RE: Eternium
Right, I can start development on this again.
Last night, I was swimming a kilometre as part of skills, and on the 38th length I though "Two left, let's just bomb it down and up." A second of that and both muscles in my calves ripped, leaving me with agonizing pain in my legs. I managed to finish it by using only my arms but I can barely walk without intense pain even now, that's why development stopped last night and the update I had planned to the thread wasn't done.

Basically, the idea was to ask whether people would want two things, the first being: Do you want to have a cutscene in this, and whether I should have more outdoor environments before the final level.
I know this may sound lazy and overly cautious but I realize that not everyone enjoys cut scenes, and I'm worried about the amount of levels (outdoor) in my map.

RE: Eternium
I wanted to stop, to set this man free.
Believe me, really, I did.
But I couldn't.
Because.. if I did, then people would know. About me. They'd know what I did to people and then the work would stop.. The work can't stop. I won't LET IT!
The work must go on, it cannot stop, stop is bad, stop means death. He knew that stopping was bad like the others..
Why did he stop? I don't know why, work, work, work.
Work must go on.
Work cannot stop.
He did not work, like the other so I stopped him, stop means death.
I wanted to know, know why so cut, cut, snip..snip..
Snip.
He bled, but he did not say why he didn't stop! He never spoke, not even breathing and he still would not talk!
Why did you stop? Why did you come down here when you knew you would stop? Did you know you stopped?
I didn't, the other one told me, told me yes.
Your red skull did not tell me, and it confused me so I thought darkness would make you talk about why you stopped!
Stop means death! Did you not know? Stop is bad, cannot stop.
Other's didn't stop, why did you? Cut, cut you still did not tell me! I cleaned you, so cold you were and messy! Like you stopped caring! Another thing you stopped?
Is that why you stopped, you didn't care?
You didn't care about work?
We must make it bigger! Larger! God wants it, your god wants it! And you stopped caring?
We must go deeper, and nobody can stop!
Stop is bad! Stop means death.

RE: Eternium
The original plan for this was five maps, each gigantic with extremely high quality level design.
Since I started work on the sewers, the length of this story effectively doubled, now with eleven maps planned. As a result of this, the story will become much harder to script, a lot longer to come out, and it means I'll also have more creative freedom.

RE: Eternium
(whilst I appreciate that an Amnesia CS is going to be pretty dark, I think when taking screenshots you may want to take into account the situation where people will be viewing your screenshot i.e. whilst browsing the forums, which have a white background. I literally cannot see anything but a few dots for lights in your screens, this is a common trend. I'm sure they are amazing, flawless works of beutiful poetic artistry, but its hard to appreciate what I cannot see. Maybe turn up your brightness when taking screens, or stick an extra box light in, so people browsing can see your work more easily. What looks like a great atmospheric pic when fullscreen in your darkened room does not translate directly to looking great posted up here)
