don't bump old threads if it is not important

You know, if its still here I'm going to comment if I see it fit. And anyway, is this a way to treat a new member?
No, it isn't. That warning was ALWAYS given to all users, even if they are either Posting Freak's, Senior Members, Junior Members or new users. Most people and Moderators don't like a bump. So don't do it. However, there were a thread that were bumped, and a Mod likes it. So... that's weird.

i raep u kids now

Yes that's why I said: if it is not important. In that case, it was a very old and interesting thread that was forgotten. Well if he/she said that the links do not work for example I wouldn't say anything else other than close this thread. But yes, saying pretty much thank you after a year is considered to be a bump for no useful reason.

If it's a year old, then delete it if you don't want it top be used... Sounds like an awfully stupid system to have. At least not get angry at me for using a forum for what it is, a forum...

Mods:

Oblivion: The Gates of Hell
Civilization (Set on wait)
Archedale Castle (Set on wait)

Were was I angry? If I was angry I would use capitals or even worse bold capitals. And also about bumping, pretty much every forum works that way. Usually though the bump is deleted without the user knowing anything about it.

LIKE THIS?

Jokery aside, I don't think bumping a resources thread to say thanks should be condemned, it can be seen as a kind and polite gesture from the user and I'm sure the maker of the assets would rather return and see thanks and such rather than an empty, dead thread.

The reason why bumping for not an important reason is wrong is because threads that were recently created go down and down until they go to page 2 in which noone ever goes easily. In most cases a thread is unburied with a thx, noone else replies and it just takes a space from a new thread that should be at page 1.
