Film
Any other film buffs on here? While I'm far from a real connoisseur (as in I've seen every pretentious unlikeable movie out there and praise the hell out of it) I do have a wide taste and I have seen a lot of movies.

My favorite movie is usually never the same at any given time, but rather I have a small list of movies that I cycle through (as in after I watch that movie it becomes my favorite until I watch the next one, because I consider them all fairly equal). My favorite movies though are generally: Touch of Evil, Vertigo, The Conversation, Ben-Hur, Naked Lunch, Dr. Strangelove and the Big Lebowski. I have plenty of favorites but these in particular I love and I have posters of three of them (Touch of Evil, Vertigo and Naked Lunch). I'm into comedies (black, satire and screwball), horror, action, historical dramas and film noir the most.

So what kind of movies are you guys into?

RE: Film
I'm into a wide variety of movies and like almost every genre (except them romantic comedies, I like my movies to have some sort of meaning).
One movie a saw not too long ago was Dogville. At first glance it seems like a bad movie and many of the reviews i read about it said the same thing that I thought when I first started watching it: "Dafuq is this, I can't be watching something like this. No I'm gonna turn it of now." I won't spoil the reason for this but I like many others chose to keep watching and now Dogville is one of my favourite movies. Another one that I really like is Moon, its not a big movie with famous names but it is certainly a small diamond in its way.

I try to see a little of this and that. Thanks for the tips! I've been meaning to see ben-hur for a while, but haven't gotten around to it. I don't have a list stored, so I'll just link some random (worth watching) stuff I come up with:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379557/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119217/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0268978/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038650/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0454921/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120382/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0181875/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110912/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0029162/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118929/

No special order to it :>

I enjoy most types of movies. It's hard to pick any particular genre.

Nice selection Smile Have watched a few of them (Truman Show and Pulp Fiction really are two jewels)
If I am to recommend one of my absolute favourite movies: The Wall, written by Roger Waters. the movie is very experimental in its execution which makes it one of a kind.

RE: Film
If you haven't seen probably the best movie ever made, watch Fight Club.

|Why?|

Perfect representation of the society while in a dream like form. It's just life.

Also, remember that any movie from Quentin Tarantino(Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill) is a good movie, as well as those that include Johny Depp(From Hell, Secret Window...).

Today I dreamt the life I could live forever. You only know that when you feel it for you know not what you like until you've experienced it.

I personally didn't enjoy the Wall that much. If you want experimental and one of a kind watch any one of Cronenberg's movies. My favorite of his is definitely Naked Lunch which is just a mindblowingly good movie. Excellent acting, excellent score (and excellent saxophone playing by Ornette Coleman himself), excellent cinematography and excellent everything else (though the plot doesn't make any sense, but that's surrealism for you).

BTW Acies Ben-Hur is one of the most incredible movies ever, you need to see it.

RE: Film
I imagine everyone here has seen it, but having seen Battle Royale, you should see it if you haven't. Full of gore etc but an amazing film.

Big Grin, It is Japanese (No offence,) so naturally it's going to be confusing/disturbing.
