Penumbra Overture: Refinery Problems

I have the Penumbra collection and just fell in love with Overture. I have reached the refinery and cannot access the control panel to raise the pistons. I have tried opening a previous saved spot but no luck. I tried to download a patch but that did not help either. Not sure what else to do. I did not buy this game through Frictional but through Gamestop downloads.

POssibly try a different resolution, I have an old faint memory of the piston activation areas being offset if using a widescreen resolution if playing. If that does not help then not sure, possibly have to reload an even earlier save.
