Windows purchases

Hi,

Is it possible to purchase the Collection for Windows NOT on Direct2Drive / Steam / Gamersgate? I hate getting games on these types of platforms, as convenient as it is. I've not seen these games in store (especially not for US$5 for the special this weekend =P), so that's not an option unless someonecan provide locations in Canada.

I don't want to deal with companies where they can revoke which games I can play, especially for a completely single player experience. Ask anyone who's purchased "1984" and "Animal Farm" from Amazon for their e-book reader. =p (http://pogue.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/07/1...n-others/)

There is a boxed version of the Collection for Windows. If you can't find it in a local game store, try online stores such as amazon.

Both ship to US only. I am located in Canada. =( Googling "Buy Penumbra Collection" doesn't result in many actual stores. =\ (Ebay also has a link, but only ships to US)

I'll take a look again, but I doubt any major gaming store has it (probably would have noticed it).

These guys need to work on their search engine optimization for this game. Didn't show up on google when I looked. =P

They do ship to Canada but the game is US$9.99 + $15.99 shipping. I hate companies that lower the cost of the game and hide it in the shipping costs. I'm probably too picky, but I specifically avoid stores (online or otherwise) that clearly decrease the up-front price just to entice people. Their shipping goes by amount spent, and not weight or dimensions: the shipping for Penumbra is the same as buying the entire Band kit for Guitar Hero / Rock Band.

I think I'll resign myself to checking in store, or perhaps special ordering it there. I should be able to special order it through their local stores at the worst case.
