Black Plague crashes after examination room [spoilers]

While playing the Steam version of Black Plague, it crashes when I leave the examination room, right after the cut scene where Clarence is killed. The voice says "I'm sorry, do not hate me", the screen fades to white and then locks up. The music is still playing, the HDD is chugging, but it stays on the white screen. I've tried messing around with different video and sound settings, but still the same thing. Please help...I want to finish the game!!!

Never heard of this crash before. Try loading a previous save and see if that helps!
