What do I do here? Cistern help

I repaired the machine in the Cistern and now im ready to continue, the bridge started to lower but then it got stuck >.> what now?

Lower the other bridge and go through that door. When you've completed the puzzle in there, come back, put the lever back up on the bridge you've just crossed, and run back over to it so that it rises when you're on it. Then, jump down to the other bridge, and it will fall back into place.
