i have an nvidia geforce gt 555m which is the discrete card but i have used the control panel so only the nvidia processor is used. and the intel card is intel HD but it shouldnt matter since i dont use it and why would it only affect fullscreen

Make sure you have this installed which is the latest Intel HD driver. It might help:

okay i have just finished doing the intel hd driver update and it still doesnt work.... im starting to get really annoyed with the program

EDIT: okay this is insanely bizarre but when i changed the settings in my control panel to run amnesia with the intergrated graphics the game runs fullscreen this is insane, my graphics card is much more powerful why wont the geforce gt 555m work

Ok, make sure you have the latest nvidia drivers installed from here:

Thats jusT it the update doesnt affect hybrid power cards like mine

well there is something wrong with your computer drivers somehow between the nvidia one and the intel one. You could still play it at the Intel one by the way or try a almost full screen resolution with the nvidia one. I mean, a windowed mode very close to full screen. That might work...

Well since you can play the game I don't think there is a problem. The game is not famous for its graphics anyway...
