Help! Amnesia crashes when I leave the Study

I've been playing for a couple of hours without issue and just grabbed the elevator rod from the study with the broken window however when I try to leave this area and click on the door out the screen goes black and the game crashes.

I see this:
Amnesia.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module Amnesia.exe at 0023:00520685

I read some other threads with this error but am not sure how to fix this issue. I've attached the hpl.log in case that helps.

Please help!

Just wanted to add that I just tried updating my video card drivers and that doesn't seem to have worked either.

A bit more info:

The game only crashes when I try to leave the Study and return to the Black Hall. I've tried loading a previous save and I can enter and leave other areas but every time I enter the Study the game crashes when I try to leave.

I am getting this crash too. I've tried all the remedies prescribed in the sticky as well as updating my video card drivers. I can't seem to exit the study to the back hall without the game crashing on me. Some insight by Frictional Games would be helpful.

Try to re-install the game or check cache integrity if using Steam.

I too have had this same annoying crash. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game, verified game cache via Steam, 100% successfully verified. Following instructions in general troubleshooting, I've turned off SSOA, killed Read Only in the affected folders, ran in Compatibility Mode, and as administrator, all to no effect.

Running an Intel Core i7 950, 6GB of DDR3 1600 memory, and nVIDIA GeForce GTX 460. All drivers are up to date.

As there have been several instances of this with various builds, I daresay this is a bug in the program itself.

If you can post your HPL.log under Documents/Amnesia/Main devs can look into the matter.

It looks like something is wrong with the installation. Because game cannot find some entities or meshes.

Well, I've reinstalled several times already, and the Steam check says all files are verified, but the problem still occurs. I can't think of anything else I could try.

If it's useful to know, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

You are continuing from your save game, aren't you? Does a new profile and a new game cause crash too?
