GDI Generic Problem
Hello, I'm having a problem with Amnesia not seeing my 5850 ATI Radeon. I've looked through the troubleshooting post on how to fix this via Device Manager but my computer has no integrated graphics, the only thing I see is my ATI's Driver (Driver is up to date). I've looked into the Bios on my motherboard but it's not built to run w/o a external graphics card. My OS is 64-bit Win7 Ultimate.

Any solution to why the game is still not seeing my graphics card? Huh

Please attach us here the file HPL.log found under Documents\Amnesia\Main folder. Are you sure you only have a regular/dedicated graphics card?

I'm pretty sure, my motherboard doesn't even have a physical video output.
Would having a 64-bit OS have anything to do with it?

Here's the HPL.log

Make sure you have the latest patch installed which is v1.2 and can be found here:

http://support.frictionalgames.com/entry/98/

Are you sure you have the latest drivers? You should have Catalyst 11.5 which is the latest one.

What are your system specs(especially the mobo) and if not custom made, what model exactly?

RE: GDI Generic Problem
The game is at 1.2v and I installed the drivers in your link there, computer crashed and won't reboot.

Tried reseting with the jumper but it's not displaying.

Able to access forums through my other computer.

What? This is crazy. These drivers are from the official AMD site. Why would a computer crash with new gpu drivers? It doesn't make sense. What do you mean it won't reboot? Also, if the game was patched to v1.2 it would show up at hpl.log so probably it isn't.

RE: GDI Generic Problem
Sorry for the slow response, yes my game is 1.2 and when I was installing that driver my screen flickered for awhile, then went black, then a blue screen doing a memory dump. Computer kept beeping repeatedly when I would try to reboot. So, I just finished restoring it just now and I'm back up and running.

My Graphics Card Driver is Up To Date, with Open GL version of 2.1.

And to answer your other question my Motherboard is a Intel Desktop Board DP55WB Media Series.
Other Specs include 4GB RAM, the ATI 5850 Radeon Graphics Card, and 6700 Series Intel Quad Core.

Just reinstalled Amnesia and low and behold....... It sees my Radeon Smile

Seems the system restore fixed that.

Thanks for your help.

Oh great. MMM, the system restore cannot be the one. Can you post again the new log?

But I'm sure that the new drivers fixed the problem. So ok, have fun playing the game!

Here's the new HPL file.

Also the driver's that seem to be working just fine are the ones I got with the product (discs).
