Well that's a bit of a no-brainer isn't it? Of course it gets less scary once you've taken a peek behind the scenes and see the strings that move the puppets. (metaphorically speaking) That's why I was so surprised to hear that AMfP is apparently still scary for the guys involved in its development since the beginning...(or maybe spreading that rumor was just a bit of clever marketing? )

The thing that probably kills all the fear is shit like assholes broadcasting the monsters and stuff, just cause they think that's "scary". The brute was SOOO much more terrifying when you don't know what it looks like.
I remember when the first time i ever played amnesia and heard about those "Grunts" i pissed my self every time i heard any noise , but now only jump scares scary me in custom stories
