What is the 'Laeruk'?

I found a folder of it in the sounds folder of the Amnesia installation. What is it? I never heard of it, nor heard the sounds in the folder in the game.

It's a fan-made creature I made up. You must have installed Through the Portal, because that is where the sound file comes from.
