I set in-game gamma to 1.1, then ran xgamma -bgamma 0.85 and that seems to correct for it.

Do you use the command line in the properties on the steam version of the game?

No, you run it at the command prompt in Linux. In windows, you might be able to set the color curve for blue in the control panel, but I'm not sure exactly how to do that.

Explains why it didn't work. Well, I just had A NOPE moment, so I will be going to sleep now. Good night.

The blue haze is intentional, different levels will have different variations of it, second level in the mansion probably has the most of this effect.

What about other games? Your monitor can cause this too like your graphic card.

What about the issue with the gamma slider? Mine automatically changes back to whatever the default is...the position of the slider doesn't change anything.

I'm shocked that the ugly color filtering is intentional, it makes the game look far worse than the first Amnesia.

The Gamma scale states: "Controls screen brightness. To play as intended, lower Gamma until right square is barely visible."

Is it possible you guys meant the left square? My Gamma scale needs to be set at 1.95 to have the right square barely visible, but the left square becomes barely visible around 1.3 for me which provides a much darker (less bright blue) playing experience. I can attach screen shots if that will help.
