I might have a friend or two over at the time, would that be alright? I mentioned this to them, and they seemed okay with joining. I referred to your note on friends and family.

Yes that's perfectly fine! Just be sure to give me their Skype names (Or display names), and tell us what we should be calling them!

RE: FG's Weekly Chat-em Up - Latest News and Next Time's Topic Decided (12/29 EDIT) - Kreekakon - 12-29-2014

Latest News (As of 2014/12/29):

1. Next meeting will be on either 1/3 (SAT) or 1/4 (SUN). Exact time will be announced later. The topic for this time will be: Your Favorite Movie(s) of All Time and why?

2. Future meetings will be set on a pre-determined fixed time for all future weeks based on a seemingly proper time based on time zones. Those who cannot make the time will unfortunately be unable to be accustomed for.

The reason I decided to take this approach is that gathering data for every single person's timetable, and then cross-referencing that with time zones is far too chaotic and has an extremely high possibility of there not being a proper time anyways once more people decide to participate.

Therefore I briefly went over the matter with everyone at the end of the last meeting, and we decided to take the more simplified approach where the meeting will simply take place on a "reasonable" time for all time zones (Meaning preferably not in the dead of night or super early morning)

3. In future meetings I will likely be bringing along some of my real life Taiwanese friends since they have recently been asking me that they wanted to practice speaking English. I also went over this with people at the end of the last meeting and I'll repeat the concerns I brought up then (Which everyone was okay with):

My friends will likely have EXTREMELY broken English and their being here means that consideration will have to be taken for them, and the call cannot flow as super fast as it usually does with full English-savvy speakers. This will require a lot of patience from our sides so I am telling you all in advance.

If anyone else feels like bringing along friends to practice English feel free to do so as well if anyone's interested!

Robo warned us that if this is the topic for next week, he's basically going to talk about interstellar for 5 hours basically.

If Film talk is anything like Film talk in my main online forum then expect a fuck tonne of controversy.

Ye, I've seen it now, so I'll probably shoot him down Big Grin

Hello, everyone! Got a bit of news for you all. After doing a little bit of digging. I noticed that the most adequate time for the meeting to be held would likely be on either 8 AM, or 9 AM London local time.

You can find your corresponding time here:

http://www.worldtimeserver.com/meeting-planner-times.aspx?&L0=TW&Day=28&Mon=12&Y=2014&L1=SE&L2=NO&L3=SI&L4=US-CA&L5=AU-SA&L6=GB&L7=

Unfortunately this also means one of two small inconveniences for one party in each of the times respectively:

1. 8 AM would mean that anyone from London would have to wake up at 8 AM to be in the chat.

2. 9 AM would mean that anyone from western USA would have the meeting be at 1 AM (And likely end at around 3 AM). Anyone from the east coast would probably have it even worse.

I currently am leaning more towards the first one (8 AM London time), but I would still like input from both parties on what they think about the time!

EDIT: If no one says anything I'll just go ahead and set the time as 8 AM on Saturday!

RE: FG's Weekly Chat-em Up - Currently deciding the fixed time (12/30 EDIT) - Kreekakon - 01-02-2015

Hello everyone. Apologies for telling everyone this so late, and deciding on this, but I noticed another time which seemed to be even better and worked well for every single person except maybe those who come from western USA, who will have to get up at 8 AM. Everyone from Europe will have afternoon, eastern USA will have late morning, and Taiwan will have midnight:

London Time 4 PM on Saturday

You can look up the corresponding time here. It's the time at the very bottom of the table. It says Sunday but that's only because I was too lazy to look up all the countries again since I'm posting this from home and my "favorite countries" are not saved on here. So just crank every date one day backwards:

http://www.worldtimeserver.com/meeting-planner-times.aspx?&L0=TW&Day=28&Mon=12&Y=2014&L1=SE&L2=NO&L3=SI&L4=US-CA&L5=AU-SA&L6=GB&L7=

I do realize that this still may prove to a bit early for Kurton who is from western USA. I'm sorry I can't wait for your input any longer since the meeting is tomorrow and it could be bad if I announced the final decided date way too late.

If this time is unfortunate for Kurton, next time we could take turns and assign a time which places Kurton's time as a higher priority.
