The River is a TV series... It's not the scariest show, even tho it won an award for being it...

Most 'horror' movies are a waste of time

So true, dude. I love horror and have seen a whole lot of horror movies, but there´s like 7-9 shitty movies on one greate. Its like trying to find 20 diamonds in Minecraft within one hour

I agree, though I can temporarily enjoy some horror movies nonetheless because I am no critic so I can enjoy many things, but games take movies' breath away as far as being scared. I regret to say that I cheated in my very first playthrough of Amnesia (turning lights on, turning sound lower at scary parts) because I was just too chicken shit to handle it myself.

I'm not a critic either, doesn't mean I have to like 'horror' that relies on cheap and bland scares

That's fine.

Yeah, that is the good thing about Amnesia; being a game it isn't nearly as predictable and there is more immersion in it.

RE: Paranormal Activity 3 - Obliviator27 - 02-27-2012

Games have a more profound effect with the horror genre. Sure, a movie is "Oh my goodness, scary thing on screen", but in the end it's just watching an experience. With a game, it places you into the situation. You feel the stress, the worry, and the relief of your character as opposed to watching someone experience it.

RE: Paranormal Activity 3 - Wooderson - 02-28-2012

Following on from what Obliviator said, games like Amnesia put YOU in the game, and your actions determine your outcome. Interactivity is what its called. I can't say this for the whole human race but probably more people prefer to interact with something rather than to sit back and watch something. I think its harder work for the brain to pay attention and requires more imagination etc. (Why have I gone into such depth? :S)
