Flashlight's beam is grainy when up close to objects. - GoreGrinder99 - 07-29-2013

As the title says, the flashlight's beam turns grainy with black spots the closer I get to a wall or other object. Is there a way to fix this?

This usually occurs with imported models, such as penumbra assets etc. Anyways does the weird lighting occur on amnesia assets as well?

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean grainy effect with other models like the original lantern? If so then no, if happens only with the Digybite flashlight model.

I think what he means that if you use the "Digybite" flashlight and get close to Amnesia assets. (Chairs, Lanterns, Walls, Stairs, Tables, etc...)

Does the same problem occur?

Yes, every object its beam touches.

I've experienced this, too, though i haven't been able to figure it out. My guess has been that it has to do with either the ambient occlusion settings or shadow quality settings or something related to that. I believe this only applies to spot lights.
