RE: PewDiePie arguing - MrWhitticus - 07-21-2014 1) Correlation not Causation 2) Pewdiepie had nowhere near 26 million when he first started, meaning that when he did start, 26 million people didn't buy the game (maybe 200 or so) 3) Not every subscriber would buy it. Just because he had 26 million doesn't mean he contributed 26 million sales Plus @Meachavomit it's fucking stupid but apparently they made one RE: PewDiePie arguing - eliasfrost - 07-21-2014 There's no doubt that PewdiePie popularised the let's play formula of entertainment, and he did it through Amnesia which led to a boom in traffic to Frictional Games and their products. I don't understand the problem here? Why is this a debate? RE: PewDiePie arguing - MrWhitticus - 07-21-2014 I really have no idea But if the reason I created this thread works you'll never have to hear about it again RE: PewDiePie arguing - Kreekakon - 07-21-2014 I'm not sure about the exact time frame, but I think it was maybe around when he had 10 million subscribers that he started not playing Amnesia as much. So his current subscriber count would not reflect the amount of people that watched him play Amnesia at the time. That being said, it may also be likely that new subscribers dug into his Amnesia videos , because that was one of Pewdie's most iconic series. I do not believe that Pewdie was the person that without which would've made Amnesia sink into the ground, and no one would've ever heard of. He definitely helped, but he was not the sole man who brought Amnesia into the public eye. That was done alongside various other Youtubers at the time, the video game press, and the general fact that it's a really good horror game which is a kind that has not been seen for a really long time. RE: PewDiePie arguing - i3670 - 07-21-2014 At the moment, I have 2 issues with PDP: 1. He's not doing any long-term series. Just the random 1-2 videos. For example, I loved his Last of Us playthrough because it was like following a tv-show. 2. His charity events. I dislike charity. I'll leave it at that. However, despite this I will still keep on watching. RE: PewDiePie arguing - Froge - 07-21-2014 He just finished Corpse party, which was 17 videos, and is in the middle of Walking Dead season 2. RE: PewDiePie arguing - victorkim890(KimmyChimmy) - 07-21-2014 probally 5% of 26million ppl bought amnesia wat is 5% of 26 million maybe even 15% of 26 million ppl bought the game RE: PewDiePie arguing - MrWhitticus - 07-21-2014 1.2 million, which I still doubt RE: PewDiePie arguing - Nice - 07-21-2014 this thread is horrible, just dont mention his name, there's been millions of discussions about PDP already before you people joined in and it never leads anywhere RE: PewDiePie arguing - RedKnight - 07-21-2014 I agree with mrwhitticus, rape jokes are not funny. They piss me off. I am ok with pewds, but not if he is acting like a screaming/moaning bitch AND makes rape jokes. |
