Amnesia performance on my laptop? - ShaggyMoose - 09-21-2010

I really enjoyed the Prenumbra series and was ready to jump on Amnesia as soon as I heard about it. Unfortunately though, I am stuck gaming on a lame laptop for the next year or so. It is a C2D 1.8 GHz with 1GB RAM and an Nvidia 7300 Go (128 MB dedicated). All in all, pretty sad. I can't really tell from the system requirements how this would go on my machine. Can anyone describe their experience?

I do believe you'll be able to play it at least. For example your processor isn't 2,0GHz, but nowadays clockspeed isn't all in all when it comes to processor's speed. Also 1GB may be enough if you run XP, if you run Vista, then you could upgrade to 2GB RAM. At least if your laptop supports 2GB, RAM isn't expensive nowadays.

But yeah, trying the demo is the best way.

If running Vista, you should upgrade to either 3GB or 4GB of RAM.
I had Vista Ultimate before and to be honest, it didn't really work out that well even though I have 3GB of RAM... But for XP, 2GB is enough.

That doesn't sound great. I will give the demo a shot, but it sounds like I will be waiting a while to play this one. Sad

Runs great on my 2 year old laptop ... all maxed out (only thing that is off is smoothing/Anti-aliassing).
