Ah, see new monster and he is soo cute... Tongue

He is scarier than me Sad

RE: Envy the Dead - Hermoor - 08-16-2011

Pluto did you add the monster in photoshop :p The shadow looks a bit fake xD Also I noticed something watching that screenshot, the silhouette of the hair looks a bit stiff. One more cut to smooth out the hair a bit would probably improve the look of the monster a lot.

Also there is no shadow coming from his hair. One would expect the area under the hair to be darker than the area that is not under the hair. Might want to darken the area under the hair and then of course give him a proper shadow. Just a few things I noticed Wink

Ps: Looking at it again the shadow probably behaves like that in the Amnesia engine. One would think the shadow would be smaller the further away it's from the lightsource, anyway can't wait to play it. Smile

You know I just took a week long art class on shading and proportions, and pretty much any talk of shading makes me want to smash my face into a wall right now Tongue

RE: Envy the Dead - plutomaniac - 08-16-2011

Well guys, I know nothing about modeling and photoshop. So, I cannot do all these by my own for sure.

Right now, I'm thinking of the characters and the plot...

Pluto half of the scare are the sounds. What sounds are you planning to give to the vittra?

Well, first I need to have him animated otherwise there is no point in making sounds. I asked someone if he can do it and he says probably yes, only if it is not too hard. I guess it won't be since it is a human-shape model. For example, should he move with only one leg functional and things like that. To be specific, firstly I need to think how he could be animated to look nice.

Ok but if you ever come to the point of making sounds for him. How about combining animal sounds?
Elks and crows have particulary scary sounds in my opinion.

You could use a program like Audacity to use these sounds and turn them into monster Smile

The second one could be used after some editing I guess. For now though, I better find an animator! Smile

Hi guys, I noticed the bad looking excessive use of lamps and so I updated the ModDB image with a new pic from the updated map:
