@Traggey The spinning around with an object, observable at 4:21, can easily ruin the immersion. They used it in SH: Homecoming and it was stupid there too.

I red that here on a german site.

Silent Hills (PT) - development is not cancelled, but Guillermo del Toro is no longer involved

According to IGN, and a source close to Guillermo del Toro, the quote should have been torn to "Cancelling the development of Silent Hills" out of context. Accordingly, the production of Silent Hills has not been stopped. Rather, the quoted statement concerned the collaboration between Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima in the development of the survival horror game. So both are not working (more) together on the project and this very fact would break his heart. Why and by whom the cooperation has ended, but it is unclear. A statement from Konami is expected ...

Any more than one source? Can't trust news like this if it's from only one source

RE: Silent Hills Thread

I'm fairly certain the game is most definitely dead. As seen on the game's wikipedia page, there are multiple sources from different people who all state that the game is canceled. This rules out the possibility of the game being mistakenly thought as canceled via a misunderstanding of the one and only statement since there are multiple different ones to see.

RE: Silent Hills Thread

Quick question: Do I necessarily have to play Silent Hill 1 to understand the story of SH 2?

No. SH3 is a sequel to SH1, but SH2 stands alone.

While not the most necessary but I recommend playing SH1, it helps to explain the power of the town itself.

RE: Silent Hills Thread

When you play SH2, use this patch:

SH1 is also a good game, but you need an emulator.
