Also, depending on how your body clock works in your sleep, even with that extra hour of sleep, you may not be in your "light" sleep as opposed to your 1 hour earlier schedule.

There's an app called Sleep Cycle (can't remember if it is free or not) which determines the best times to wake you up with an alarm between a time period you set. I used to use it a lot, but I kept forgetting to set it.
