Saying that everything is wrong and bad about someones work is not feedback.

That's around everywhere you go. My best advice to to take the general things they said (because a stranger doesn't normally have a grudge against another for no reason, so something they say is affecting them) such as the lighting and mapping, and ask what is wrong with it. Don't argue, it'll make you the better person =]

Try not to take it to heart.

I'ma enter this one aswell, going to fully agree with Statyk here, if you post WIP stufff, be prepared for critique!

You gotta know how to take it, Robo is quite the commoner around here and I know perfectly well he's not trolling.

Now ya'll, calm down. <3

I'm perfectly prepared for critique. But there's been no critique so far. Just flaming.

I'll give you actual feedback then. Before, I do though, just keep in mind that all of Robosprog's claims are all perfectly valid, and it would be unwise to squander them.

-The first screenshot is very large, and empty. It would be a alot better to add more detail to it, or even shrink the size of the room to better accommodate the amount of detail intended for it.
-For all your mapping, remember to use welders. Otherwise, the connections between walls will seem jarring.
-The first screenshot also suffers from lighting issues. Almost NEVER will you see pure bright white light glaring into a room. It's just very unnatural.
-Not really much to add on detail about the other screenshots since they're just hallways mostly
-A very big problem with the other screenshots is that they lack boxlights, which in turn makes them completely pitch black. Real lighting doesn't work like that. No matter how dark, there should alsways be a minimal boxlight around the entire level to make lighting more natural.
-Also, look at the last screenshot in the study room(?). The window clearly have light rays shining in, but the area around the window is still completely pitch black.

Well, that's actually the entrance hall, so I intended for it to be large. I intend to add more detail to it.

Fair enough. I actually forgot those existed.

Like I said, that's a lightning. Here it is, not in the middle of a lightning.

That part of the map is actually the only areas lacking box lights.

Well, actually it's not black. It's just a bad angle: [Image: screen5.png]

^This shows that you need to know how to follow the unwritten golden rule of screenshots: Even IF your custom story is hideous as a whole, the screenshots you pick have to show off the custom story at its best so you can attract people to come play it. A amazing story might get left in the dust because of misleading screenshots which show sub-par quality.

Well, I actually just took a number of random screenshots. Since I was looking for testers to iron out bugs, I figured people would know the maps would have bugs. Testers would be no good if they wouldn't want to test because of bugs.

This is not a release thread.

But I see your point.
