Missing rope animation and model

This game has been working excellent for me... right up until this moment. I put the meat on the rope, and then I lower it. BAM, I hear the sound of the monster eating and I get the black box of doom. I can still hear sound but nothing is going on, it's frozen.

I have turned down all graphics, turned off vsync, triple buffer, turned them back on--everything. I run the game in administrator mode. NVIDIA GeForce 8700MGT is my driver and it says it is the latest update. I swear I have tried every single thing possible. I worked on cache, did everything. Oh, also my OS is XP. Here is my log:

Cache is verified, and I loaded from an earlier save. However that save was also in the Nave. The save before that was before I went through the whole torture champers for the other three pieces. I don't want to do about 20-30mins work all over again if it won't work though. But if you think it would, I'll do it of course. I included the actual crash box.

Well did steam update the game(to v1.2) in the middle of the current game? There is no point in loading an earlier save unless that happened. It looks like that that happened, judging from the log but you never know. Have you searched the Amnesia support forum with the keywords meat and rope? I remember a while back some threads about meats and ropes and that specific place with agrippa and stuff. Check them out, you might find something there. If not, we will consider different things. But first try these solutions over there.

EDIT: Mmm, I just saw the crash picture and now seems like a graphics driver issue. Make sure you have this installed:

I bought the game after the Justine update came through, I know that much but not what specific version it was. I bought the game July 8th, so little less than a week ago and I think it was up to date.

SO I looked up the rope and meat like you suggested, I guess I should have done that first. However it seems no one knows the problem! So my only question is: If I use the second well they're mentioning after I am imprisoned will this effect my ending (will I get to free him)? I guess as long as I can finish the game I will be relieved either way. I'm not a game perfectionist or anything but... I feel sorry for the guy!

Amnesia has 4 endings. Three normal ones and one secret. You will only loose one of the three normal in case the problem cannot be fixed. Have you tried the new driver?

Oh, it looks like this laptop is vista so that xp one doesn't want to work. I remember making it search for vista before but now I can't find the one for it.
