PC Build [GPU]

Hello there community,

Kind of an off-topic 'topic' incoming. Not usually what i like to do, but yeah.

It'll be just a few days before i'll build my next pc. I've got everything fiddled out already and i'd just like some personal oppinions/suggestions from the community to aid my choices.

I'm trying to get a good GPU that is not overpriced or overkill in terms of graphics performance (so basically good €/performance). I'm switching back and forth between the GTX 760 and the 770. After reading several articles about both of these, they do not really difference THAT much graphics wise but the 760 is about 90 € cheaper. I will play at a resolution of 1920x1080 and aim to play games like Skyrim / Battlefield 3 / League of Legends / Amnesia at decent fps around high settings. I feel like the 760 will fit my needs but i'm not sure if i should invest a bit more into the 770.

Advice appreciated Smile

What is the price range you're aiming?

It would be 850€ something with the 760. i can push for up to 1000€ i think.

Here's an article putting all gpu's to list, money to performance ratio, you should find something there to your liking.

But personally if i had to choose between those two, i would take GTX760 and overclock it Tongue, but i don't recommend that option if you don't have the qualification on it nor you don't want to take a risk to break it.

very nice article. will finish reading it when i got time, thanks Smile

Would you still go for the 760 without overclocking? How much performance percentage would overclocking add to the graphics?

http://www.hwcompare.com/14793/geforce-g...e-gtx-770/
here.
This will show how much difference is overall between these two cards, you can overclock the card about 5 - 15% faster or more if you can find proper solution for cooling.

Oh darn it, i just realized that GTX760 is superior to my old card HD7850, it ran Skyrim at max, and BF3 ULTRA at descent frames, i would go with that, it is not definitely a bad choise. If that's something you've been looking for.

RE: PC Build [GPU]

The same like me. I also want to buy a new GPU and am consider between a 760 and 770.
But the new AMD R9 GPU seems to be really good. I normally are a fan of nVIDIA, but I have the feeling that AMD is a bit better now. They have all features like DirectX 11.2 (instead 11.0) etc.

The R9 290 for 350€ is fast like a GTX Titan for 900€.

- 4GB GDDR5
- 2560 Shader-Units
- 512 bit memory interface

The GTX 770 only has:

- 2GB GDDR5
- 1536 Shader-Units
- 256 bit memory interface

So you will get the ultimative high-end performance for less money.
I'm now thinking about to change to AMD.

Where did you find it that price? That's damn good, lowest i've found is about ~500€.
