Sad  2 years and no DLC/expansion!?

Just why? The game sold good and had a lot of people liked it, even those who think that Amnesia is trashy.

A lot of good user-created content. I would gladly give Frictional Games more money for anything they release for SOMA...but nothing? Why? Sad

They are developing two games at the moment. If I remember correctly, I think they have stated they will reveal something this year.

"What you think is irrelevant" - A character of our time

Oh, that is nice. But SOMA has so much potential, it's sad to see Penumbra which was never so popular and Amnesia had 3 expansions and something so sophiscated as SOMA had none.

Thank you for your reply! Looking forward for their next game Smile

"Reveal" only means we get a fairly sketchy glimpse of it. Most likely things will get real at least 2 years from then, from what I have been used to... but it's probably worth the wait.

I would also have liked having a small thing to follow the next adventures of the unlucky Simon and have some kind of a closure for him, but hey. Sad

I'd love to see a new DLC along with the relaunch of the ARG, in some ways the ARG held my fascination much more than the game it was creepy as it was believable.

Something that would be nice to see is exploration on land. Coastal regions perhaps. Play as a survivor?

What would be difficult in making an expansion expanding on Simon's story is that we visited almost all of Pathos II, except maybe some unexplored areas in Upsylon and Theta.
I think if they did make an expansion it would have a completely different character and setting. Like Justine and AMFP.

Not every game needs a sequel. In fact, I believe the best story-driven games are better off just being what they are. Complete, undiluted experiences.

But I would definitely like to see another adventure game from Frictional that has a strong focus on storytelling and ambiance (as opposed to horror).

Something set in space would be cool, like an abandoned space station.
