Not Solved Fraps and dxtory not working

I can't think of ANY game in history in which both Fraps and dxtory recording programs would not work both... That makes me wonder how is it that people record Amnesia..? My other games work fine with Fraps and dxtory (those that should work anyway).. I am on Windows 10, NVIDIA 417.35 drivers...

Somebody please start talking!

Weird. I can record Amnesia with Fraps without any problem.
Can you get an older version of Fraps ?

Also, where did you get the game ? Steam, Discord, GOG, retail ?

Steam. My Fraps version in the most common that everyone has - 2013, 3.5.99.

Is any body on steam, on Windows 10 and their Fraps is working just fine???

Amnesia is made using OpenGL which apparently causes some problems for some Fraps settings (no idea about the other one though). I'd suggest looking into solving Fraps-OpenGL problems.

Oh, and did you try updating your graphic card drivers ?

EDIT: Apparently Fraps doesn't like Windows 10 either

Ye that must be it. Fraps is a recording software meant for directx games. However, why on earth dxtory does not work is beyond anything. Dxtory so far worked with any game i had, unlike Fraps...

EDIT

I have just downloaded the gog version and Fraps works just fine. Piece of shit steam is causing record problems it seems... It's not like i wanted to record anything special. Bahh, it is past that now... Perhaps i should buy games in the future from gog, not steam.

Weird, since both versions are actually the same... I guess it might be Steam's overlay causing trouble. Still weird because I recorded the Steam version of SOMA (it has the newer version of Amnesia's engine) without any trouble...
Welp,if it works, it works.

I suspect the overlay too. Or a Fraps setting that interferes with the overlay.

People might be using ShadowPlay to record Amnesia though. I know I do.

It is true. I have steam verion and also the old version directly from FG and Fraps didn't work on steam version but it did work on FG version. I also have Win 10.
