There's also something about CPU that I need to upgrade. But I'm not really any good in the experience of computers. Teach me, masters!

Also, I'm thinking about waiting another month, which means I'll probably end up with about 18.000 crowns.

I have a rather cheap set-up, yet quite powerful:

Core i5 3350P
AMD HD Radeon 7850
4 GB RAM
...and the best of the best, my good ol' 120 GB Seagate harddrive Big Grin

With this I can run - for example - Far Cry 3 with highest settings, which means you probably can run almost all recent games with it.

For those with a limited budget who want a little gaming experience I would recommend middle-of-the-range AMD GFX cards. Nowhere as good as nvidia cards, but way more affordable and with more than decent results (see mine).

Basically the UD5H has 2 LAN ports and better onboard audio. Everything else is the same. If you don't need Wifi then see the bare UD3H and UD5H which cost less because of that. That way, you can get a better graphics card like a 660Ti for example. Btw, so many fans may not be needed. Will you keep the stock intel cooler?

Ok, thanks; I've changed my post now. About the case, is 2-3 usb-ports enough. I can't seem to find any cases with more than 3 usb-ports...

RE: New computer.

About the mobo, if you need better onboard audio and 2 LAN ports then go with the UD5H. Personally, I have the UD3H because I don't care about another LAN port and I have a dedicated sound card. It depends on what you need.

Most cases nowadays usually come with a front panel IO of 2xUSB3 and 1xUSB2, MIC, Audio, Power, Reset but as far as the USB go, it depends. The maximum I've seen is usually like 2xUSB3 and 2xUSB2. Don't forget, the motherboard has many more USB3 ports on the back.

Oh, I suspected that, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the answer! Big Grin

Btw, is a sound card necessary for a gaming rig like this? Do I need it if I'm going to use a headset?

I once had a mouse that kept running out of battery... Which at last was pretty annoying... Now it has a cable Smile

But I'm just being silly, because I know technology changes

Trying is the first step to success.

You don't need a sound card unless you're a huge audiophile and have the extra cash. I'd rather spend the money on a better gpu than a sound card personally.

The above post is not entirely correct. It is a common belief that sound cards are useless but if your pair even the cheapest one with a good headphone, you will see the difference. You can get an Asus Xonar DG which costs 25$ and a pair of headphones that will take advantage of it.

But if you don't have good speakers or headphones then there is no need. Well I am saying too much here. Basically, for you at this time, if you don't have good speakers or headphones don't buy a sound card, stick to onboard.

Btw: The sound cards for audiofiles cost something like 150$, so no it's not the same...

Yeah that's the sound card I thought would fit me well. Thanks for the information.

RE: New computer.

I would buy the GeForce GTX 770, which is actually the best price/performance card you could get.
More powerful than the GTX 680 by almost same price as the GTX 670.
