Just wanted to inform everybody that I will be holding a lecture and be part of a panel at GDC Europe next week.
The Gathering
On the morning of May 10, we all gathered for the very first time. Unlike what many had prophesied, this did not bring about the end of the world. No, this Tuesday morning turned out to be quite benevolent. The six of us met at Malmö train station right next to the statue of the knotted gun, which incidentally did no longer exist.
The Road to Valve
On a sleepy Tuesday evening in March, Jens noticed that someone on our forum had found not only the location of his apartment, but also had the photos from Google street-view, and photos from the inside, as provided by real estate agents. I guess there really is no right way to deal with such delicate matters, so Jens did what anyone of us would have done; post the link in the company chat.
The Portal 2 ARG Postmortem
On Saturday morning, the 11th December, I came across a strange mail as I did my early inbox checking. The email in question was an invite from Valve, asking us to visit them on the 17th, merely 6 days away, for reasons that were quite obscure. The only thing we knew was that it had to do with Portal 2 and that it might involve other game developers. We were of course intrigued, but at the same time a bit reluctant as we had to travel, a not short journey, in only a few days. However, after a few minutes of deep introspection, we thought “what the heck” and decided to go.
Amnesia Retail Release, GDC & IGF
Tomorrow we will begin our journey to the GDC, during the exhibit days (March 2nd to 4th) we can be found showing Amnesia in the IGF Pavilion.

We just finished our “launch” trailer for Amnesia The Dark Descent.
What could possibly go wrong?
Now that we are so close to the release of Amnesia, I would like to talk a little about all that stuff that didn’t go so well during the development. I cannot talk much on behalf of my mates here at FG, so this is gonna be a pretty personal post (but can surely apply to others out there as well).
Commentary on Commentary
Since you people were nice enough to help us reach 2000 pre-orders of Amnesia: The Dark Descent earlier this year, we have been forced to record some commentary. This was not something that we had done before, but thought that it would be a really simple task. As always, it turned out to be a lot more trouble than we had first assumed.
Uninvited Guest; Livestock Upset
So I just came early to work today at 22.00 and found the front door to our warehouse ajar. Thinking that perhaps some of our pets had escaped, I became a bit worried and carefully entered our damp dwelling.
